The
second you step foot onto Rafter Six Ranch Resort, you feel
transported into a different era. Maybe it's the cowboy's
wandering around, or the chuck wagon sitting close at hand,
ready for the next trail adventure. It might be the clear,
crisp mountain air, so fresh you swear your eyes get brighter.
But whatever it is -
you'll never want to leave!
Rafter Six Ranch
History
Founded by the legendary Colonel Walker of the
Northwest Mounted Police in the 1880s, Rafter Six
Ranch was the first ranch in the Alberta Rocky Mountains.
One of the original whiskey trading posts still stands
on the Ranch - a testament to the reason the Mounties
were formed and the Montana Whiskey Traders. Rafter
Six Ranch Resort is a favourite of movie production
companies, ever since Marilyn Monroe made her first
movie, "River
of No Return", in 1954, at Rafter Six.
There's
always something going on at the Ranch, so come and
stay awhile, you just never know what or who you might
see!
