far as we know we were the first on the web to offer more than
just a paragraph as an excerpt from a fiction novel.
That was seven years ago.

Old
West Posters
We've developed an original line of Old West
Poster Art - and frankly we think there's nothing like it any
where else. Old West Heroes like Buffalo Bill Cody, Wild Bill
Hickock, George Armstrong Custer, and Gunfighters like Jesse
James, Butch and Sundance, John Wesley Hardin, Billy The Kid,
and Doc Holliday have all been faithfully portrayed in the context
of their times.

The
Masterson - Custom Cross Draw Holster
Conceal and Carry Rig - Simple, elegant,
and functional. |

|
Canadian
Bat Masterson
was one of the most feared and respected "Shootist's"
of the Old West. He employed a cross-draw pull, and
his skill with a hand gun was such that everyone kept
theirs holstered with Masterson around. Inspired by
Bat's simple - yet elegant rig. Belt is 1 1/2"
- to accommodate belt loops on today's britches. We
made sure it fits Levi's jeans, and when worn with
a sport coat or longer coat, is the perfect holster
for people with the conceal & carry permit.
Shown in black cow hide, with heavy, plain black belt.
In the holster is a 45 Cal. 1873 Colt Peacemaker,
with 4" barrel - nickel plated. We will custom
make to accommodate the make, model, and calibre of
your firearm. Side arm is very secure when pushed
down in the holster and comes with a hammer tie-down.
Or not - your choice. Holster and belt are included
for the price.

Pistol
shown is a reproduction of a pistol ordered by Masterson
from Dodge City, on Longbranch Saloon stationary in
the 1890s. The Longbranch was owned by his good friend,
and one time Marshal Luke
Short. Bat's order was for a 45 Cal. 1873 Colt
Peacemaker; 4" barrel, nickel plated, with ivory
grips. This design was also carried by George S. Patton
throughout his impressive military career - with a
couple of changes. Patton's Colt was silver plated,
with 4 3/4" barrel, and the ivory grips had his
monogram on the butt.

Western Hat Design
The
Rocky Mountain Ranger
Try as we might we've been unable to find any
other crown working like this. That's not to say it's never
been done - but we can't find any record of it. The design
came about by pure happenstance - by our attempt to fashion
a crown shape reminiscent of a ridge of the Alberta Rocky
Mountains. We feel this back crease beautifully compliments
the 3 pinch creasing we've worked the front of the crown with.
Find out more
The
original Rocky Mountain Rangers lasted only 3 months, and
never saw any action. Called the "Tough Men" by
the locals, the troop spent their time on long, dull patrols
and amused themselves by getting drunk and annoying as often
as possible the Halifax Provisional Battalion that was stationed
nearby. The Rocky Mountain Rangers were resurrected in 1900
and to this day remains the name of a prestigious Canadian
Infantry Regiment. Click

Trail
Dust
Another customer driven hat service from
The Last Best West.
Many
customers have been requesting that we dirty up their new
hats to make them look trail worn. Pictured at right is
a Dusty Augustus - our Augustus
with about 2 years worth of trail dust - as if a working
cowboy had been wearing it.
We've
got three different degrees of trail dust. Light (add $55.00)
- medium (add $75.00), and antiquing (add $95.00). Light
would be what you see at the right on the Dusty Augustus;
medium would be heavy sweat stains, like Tom Selleck sports
on the Quigley;
and antiquing looks like our Captain
York Cavalry Hat.
This
is a similiar process that costume designers apply to hats
in the movies and t.v. Looks authentic and yer friends will
swear yer just got off a trail drive, or a hitch in the
Horse Cavalry!
|

|
| You
can add trail dust during the check out process - or request
it when you call your order in. Orders call toll free: 1-866-207-1909. |
